NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation
National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation - Fritzler Friends
Did you see me at Windrock Greyhounds/Hounds/Kennels? I never had a chance. Perhaps I also produced cryptorchid dogs with wry mouths, bad temperaments, and health issues/death like so many other Windrock Greyhounds that this was done to me. Did you see me at Windrock when you visited? Would you have helped me if you did? If you say yes, then why did you leave my brothers and sisters behind?
Did you see me at Renee McCartin, Mielikki's Hunt's Kennel? Of course you didnt. I never would have made it to 11 at her killing field. This poor dog was taken from a shelter by NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation just to show they could do it, when there were real rescues ready to take him. They didn't bother to have him checked by a vet. They determined that he was not worthy of living and put him to sleep the day after they "adopted" him from the shelter. If he went to a real rescue, he would have seen a vet and would have had the balance of his life to live out in harmony and peace. Instead, NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation took him, gave him a bath, fed him some treats and KILLED HIM!!!!! He was "guilty" of being old, but he didn't deserve to die.

In addition to killing innocent dogs like Wolfie, just to show they can be in control, NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation Friends of Fritzler were caught and reported to the Borzoi Club of America AKC Delegate for SELLING Borzoi puppies to potential rescue families! NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundationwas referred potential adopters for rescue Borzoi, but instead NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation referred those adopters to co-owners and co-breeders of their own litters to SELL Borzoi puppies.
How Renee McCartin of them Renee McCartin, Mielikki's Hunt admission that she used the coffers of Greyhound Rescue for her own personal dogs. Evidently, parvo vaccinations for Myst weren't included in the embezzlement.
It is easy to understand why they cover for one another and for the likes of Fritzler, Summerhill and Sheridan.
Fritzler Friends, NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation and company took a wonderful old dog, WOLFIE, who had been sold to an irresponsible owner who allowed him to run the streets and when he wound up in a shelter, the owner did not take him out. NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation and company took him and KILLED him the next day without as much as a veterinary visit (except to kill him). They determined the dog needed to die. Like all "rescues" done by NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundationit was a power play so that another REAL rescue could not get the dog. They took him to show they could be in control just to kill him.
They wrote the article below to make it look as if they did a wonderful thing to let him :"Cross the Bridge" with dignity. He did not want to cross any symbolic Death Bridge, no animal that is eating and happy enough to wag his tail wants to die, he wanted to live and eat his snaushages as anyone can see if they carefully read what is written below, so sad. He waited to be rescued from the shelter and was KILLED by his very "rescuers" the next day. If the shelter thought he should have been put down, they would have done it. They released him to rescue to save him, not kill him. When you read what is written below, you can clearly see that they decided to kill him without any advice from a vet, no examination what-so-ever. They brought him to the vet the next morning to put him down, but no examination was done and no attempt to save him or fix any of his medical problems!
Comment from someone who read what happened:
"Disgusting. And you're absolutely right about him not WANTING to cross the bridge. And what a lot of nerve the "author" "hopes he chooses her to cross the bridge with'. NOT LIKELY.:"
Who would want to cross any bridge with a killer! They didn't want to have him vetted. It was a power play to keep another rescue from taking a Borzoi and his death is proof. Who did they think they were deciding Wolfie wanted to die? He was happy and wagging his tail when they took him out of the shelter. Little did he know they were taking him to kill him.
As exactly reprinted below from the NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundationwebsite; noting that the NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation"rescue" is imo little more than a group of BREEDERS and KILLERS... Wolfie's Story
Sometimes in rescue, hard decisions have to be made for a dog. No one likes to have to make them and they are never easy to make. We would all rather not have to make them, but because we love the dogs, we do. Our hearts break, tears are shed and we continually second guessing ourselves, what if, well maybe we could but in the end, we do what is best and right for the dog. Normally I do not report on the heart break of rescue but because so many of you offered help, your homes and love for Wolfie, this time I am making an exception. Also because Wolfie was such a special Borzoi.

Wolfie was picked up from the Ventura, Ca shelter first thing Monday morning by Greyhound Rescue Adoption Center volunteers Nancy and Kris then handed off to Paula who did the last part of the drive to Pat Shiner and Mary of All Breed Rescue in Yucapia CA who are also part of Whippet Rescue of S. CA. When Nancy and Kris first saw Wolfie they knew this old Borzoi was in very bad shape but they took him and loved him instantly. Wolfie greeted them with a tail wag and was happy to be leaving with them. He rode with his nose out the window in true doggy fashion and enjoyed his journey. They met Paula and Wolfie continued on his journey but by now was tired and slept most of the way to Mary and Pat's. Once there, it was clear Wolfie would not be making the last leg of his journey to the home in FL waiting to fly out and bring him home. No one expected or could have guessed at just how bad Wolfie's health or condition was and their hearts were broken. How could anyone let this happen to this or any dog?! Yet Wolfie greeted them with a tail wag and was obviously happy to be rescued.
Wolfie's teeth were rotting and abscessed. He had two anal tumors that were huge and another large tumor on his hip. He was filthy, skin and bone and his heart sounded like a washing machine but this old Borzoi still has spirit. It was obvious Wolfie was in a lot of pain. They walked and fed him then settled Wolfie in, called and left a message on my machine. When I got home and played the message back, it was not what I had expected to hear. I called at once. By this time, there were also pictures waiting for me to open in my email. I opened them while Pat and I talked and cried when I saw what was once a stunning Borzoi with these wonderful, kind hearted Ladies standing with Wolfie wiping tears from their eyes. We had all hoped, we just knew Wolfie was going to have some days in the sun with a loving home to see to his every need or want but seeing those pictures and hearing the tears in Pat's voice, all that was left was the OK from me to let this old Borzoi Sleep and take his last walk to the Bridge.

I asked Pat if they would give Wolfie a bath. We could not restore him to health but we could give Wolfie back his dignity. Of course they would bath him and blow him dry. We agreed to give Wolfie something to help him rest that evening after he dinned on canned food and snaushages which they found out he LOVED!!
Wolfie was gently bathed, hand dried and brushed. They said he enjoyed really enjoyed this time, fed, given a gentle sedation for the night and settled in on his big soft blanket for the night. The next morning, he was again fed more canned food and snaushages, taken for a short walk then on his last ride to the vet. Mary and Pat laid with Wolfie on his soft blanket and held him in their arms while their Vet gently eased him to his final sleep. No more pain.
Tonight , Wolfie plays at the Bridge with all the other Borzoi who are waiting. All of our Rescues are happy to welcome him to the waiting place in the sun. One day I will get to hug that Old Borzoi and tell him he was a Good Boy and a Great Borzoi and he is so much loved. I pray it is me he chooses to walk over the Bridge with but, if it is Pat or Mary that will be just fine. Wolfie was a fine and noble Borzoi. His spirit was so beautiful and true. Before he died, he knew and felt unconditional love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Greyhound Rescue, Whippet and All Breed Rescue for everything they did and to Sue Smith who started the ball rolling and to Afghan Rescue of S. CA who was right there with offers of what ever was needed. I am amazed how everyone pulled together for one Old Borzoi who was well worth every effort. Also to all those who offered love to Wolfie. I will get pictures up on our web site so you can all see this wonderful Borzoi.
This is Rescue and the reward is in knowing we did everything possible for Wolfie. It does not make it any easier but it was the right thing to do. We were able to restore dignity to an old dog who had nothing, give comfort and love to one who had nothing and give the hardest gift of love to an old Borzoi who had only love to give. Wolfie had a dignified passing surrounded by those who loved and honored him. Mary and Pat took Wolfie home and buried him near their own dogs so he will be remembered always.

*...see how these Borzoi Breeders posing as "rescue" even kill their own dogs when they are inconvenient to them or when they make bad decisions that cause their own dogs to die - and see another comment where one of the "top Borzoi rescue people state that "Any respectable Borzoi breeder would put their dogs down before letting them wind up in rescue." See how their own dogs are often dying at far too young ages in unusal and unlikely "accidents" and illnesses that should have been prevented - soon to come see their own quotes and emails in their own words:
The lovely ladies at NBRF - National Borzoi Rescue Foundation - National Borzoi "Rescue" Foundation were caught selling Borzoi puppies using their positions in "rescue" to determine that people who wanted to adopt needy Borzoi really wanted to buy a puppy from them or their cobreeders. They use rescue to dump their culls and to sell to unsuspecting rescue referrals. This group is a joke, except that it's so sad that they get away with riding herd over breeders, breeding dogs and then selling them through rescue.
